- TNF receptor
-
(= TNF-R; CD120)There are two receptors for TNFa. Type I (CD120a; 55 kD) is present on most cell types and Type II (CD120b; 75 kD) is mainly restricted to haematopoietic cells. Both types bind TNF a and lymphotoxin (TNF b ) and are members of the NGF receptor family. The two types have substantial sequence homology except in their cytoplasmic domains, and have different signalling capacities. TNF a RI contains a death domain and interacts with a number of cytoplasmic proteins (TRADD, TRAF, FADD).
